Education to action: Providing refugees with good quality Higher Education

Syria's civil war is the worst humanitarian crisis of our time. Half of the country's pre-war population -more than 11 million people - have been killed or forced to flee their homes. Many risk their lives fleeing to other countries, where they face struggles to find jobs and settle in.

In this workshop we have shown you how a start-up provides refugees an opportunity to access to higher education through a blended learning model establishing partnerships with universities and companies and following sustainable business models. Now is time for you to put hands on with your passion and ideas throught the following group activity!

How can we leverage technology and pedagogy to bring education to this communities?

There are many topics to think of when funding a start-up. You can choose among 4 areas we have picked and form a group with the people interested in the same topic.

One speaker from every group presents the main and most innovative and helpful ideas they come up with.

During the last minutes of the workshop we have the chance to discuss the ideas you proposed and think about how to transfer some of the measures and ideas you provided to other disadvantaged communities. You can discuss further your ideas after the event in this forum
